World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. Each one of us can make a difference – together we make change!
The World Animal Day and the initiative it promotes moved us. And we decided that we wanted to make a change. For this purpose, we visited the town's dog shelter. And our hearts broke. Abandoned by their owners animals, hopelessly barking at us. Street strays, living their last days. The occasional cat, which had seen better days long ago (if any).
After consulting with the shelter's manager and chief veterinarian, we asked all the parents to aid us into helping the poor souls at the shelter. And everyone answered! We gathered a hefty amount of dog food and will be donating it after the autumn holiday.
This initiative is not only about the dogs, though. It is also for the students. It teaches humility, helpfulness and why doing the right thing is important.
